Features / Price & Volume Behaviour
Price & Volume Behaviour
Price & Volume Behaviour groups companies according to how their recent price movement and trading volume are behaving together.
What You Can Explore
Companies are grouped into Accumulation, Expansion, Distribution, Trend, and Neutral categories. Each category represents a different combination of recent price movement and trading-volume behaviour, allowing users to compare how stocks are currently behaving across the tracked market universe.
How Companies Are Classified
Companies are classified using recent observations of two things: the direction and magnitude of price movement, and the change in trading volume. The combination of these observations determines the company's Price & Volume Behaviour category.
Understanding The Categories
- Accumulation: Price is relatively stable while trading volume has increased.
- Expansion: Price is rising with increasing trading volume.
- Distribution: Price is falling with increasing trading volume.
- Trend: Price is rising without a notable increase in trading volume.
- Neutral: The company does not currently match the other price & volume behaviour patterns.
Disclaimer
These categories describe observed price movement and trading activity at the time of evaluation. They do not identify specific buyers or sellers, institutional activity, or future price direction. They should not be interpreted as recommendations or expected performance.
